In November 2006 I moved back to Scotland having bought a new apartment in Stirling. I needed to make friends and find something interesting to do during retirement from teaching.
The local paper had an article about the Stirling School of English and a request for volunteers.
By responding and going along to have a look I found myself with a whole new focus to my week. The work and cultural experiences are rewarding. They enable me to meet so many warm and interesting people.
I am now in my 13th year of attending on two mornings a week. Volunteering “keeps you young” and stimulated. Try it for yourself…..
